Stampede Fun
Anyone who lives near this area knows that this city gets CrAzY when the Stampede rolls around all of the sudden everybody's a cowboy. Each year people dig to the back of their closets and pull out the most awful color combinations ever put into one piece of material and then sewn into a piece of clothing pair it with the tightest jeans known to man- the kind you have to lie down to close and finish it all of with a LARGE hat- then they face the mirror and against their better judgement they head outside and find they fit right in b/c everyone did the same thing. I usually boycott the whole Stampede thing- I don't know why no real good reason. I think the fairground prices are a bit steep and the lines for everything are very long so the idea of taking my 5 kids into the belly of that beast is less than appealing... but this year some of the family got to do something really cool. My husbands company purchased a "tarp" for a Chuck wagon this year so Cory took both Max and Cooper on separate days to the whole event, they got to meet and greet the Chuck wagon driver (who ultimately came in 4th!!), pet the horses, meet a number of both hoity and toity people and watch the races. They had so much fun and what a neat thing for them to get to do together.
