Our family trip in our favorite rocketship...August highlights!

August pretty much flew by this summer and now that we are a few days back into school and everything is back on schedule- I miss summer!!! We started out by taking our family trip down to Idaho with some family friends and we had a blast!! The title for this post came from the song (Little Einstien's) that Ivy sang everytime we got in the car together! We have gone a few times before so we know we like it down there and were very excited to go. The kids knew to expect lots of rides, waterslides, shopping and eating at Sonic so they were very excited! They love it- when we see Target they know they will probably get a new toy, when they see Sonic they know they can get a milkshake, and when they see Silverwood they know we are in for an exciting day filled with rides, slides and frozen lemonade! We love it so much and this year we were so excited to be headed down with some of our great friends. All the excitement was worth it because we had a great time together.

Our first stop each time we go is the World's Largest Truck in Sparwood, BC
Ivy and Jack on the Ferris Wheel
Brody and Jack on the Airplanes
These 2 came off these pretty wet!
Everybody getting everybody!
Brody and Jack on the Helicopters- they had so much fun on the little "Big" kids rides!
The Big Boys plummeting something like 40 stories

Tanner was all smiles!!-
Such a good sport all day!
We drink so much Thelma's Frozen Lemonade at the park- a family fav.!
Thunder Canyon
After Thunder Canyon- Soaked!!
Before Timber Terror
She loved the park's Kettle Corn
Proof fish were caught
even if Bordy's technique leaves something to be desired!
Max was quite intent and loved it!
Everybody enjoying yet another stop at Sonic!
Cooper on the slides

Max on the slides
Ivy soaking up some rays!
I don't really know what this is about - but they were having so much fun!!
Gotta have campfires and s'mores!
Mom and Ivy having a snuggle
Hitting the lake for some more sandcastles!

Bath time in the trailer sink!

The joys of bath time in the kitchen sink- you can watch a movie!
This is how pretty much everyday ended!

Ahhh! Doing this post is making me sad because we have to wait another whole year to go do it again!!! I just love packing up our family and having them all to myself for a week and just doing all the fun stuff we can cram in! We just have the most fun being together and as a Mom who just celebrated my oldests 10 yr old birthday I need to hang on to them for as long as I can!!! Besides vacation is way more fun than school and all the start of a new school year brings... life gets so busy, both Max and Cooper are starting Basketball in a couple weeks, and Max is back in swim club Oct. 1, cubs starts again and both Cory's and mine's callings get busier this month and for the next few... so much for the lazy days of summer- back to our regular, crazy busy life!

  1. It looks like you had a great summer. I love all the pictures of you and the family. Those times in the trailer, making smores and riding the rides are the memories that will always be remembered and they will be the stories that they tell their kids. Welcome back to real life and I hope to catch up with you real soon.

  3. How did I not know that you stop at the giant truck in Sparwood every time? That is a big hit for our kids whenever we visit the grandparents - too funny! Looks like you had way too much fun. If I were your kids, I would not be excited to go back to school.
